Care for animals is what brings us together … but being a volunteer at Let’s Be S.M.A.R.T. is also very much about people, too. From early morning feeding routines to unexpected cat cuddles and laugh-out-loud moments, volunteering at our shelter is an experience like no other.If you’ve ever wondered what it’s really like to volunteer at LBS, here’s a peek behind the curtain - the real stories, the smiles, and the life-changing moments.
A Day in the Life of an LBS Volunteer
Volunteering at our sanctuary isn’t just about scooping litter (although yes, there’s plenty of that!). It’s about caring for over 100 cats and a 6 lovable dogs, making sure they’re healthy, happy, and ready for adoption. You’ll help with feeding, cleaning, enrichment, playtime, and giving lots of love. And sometimes … you’ll find yourself refereeing a playful kitten wrestling match!
Funny reality check? Cats don’t care about your schedule. If they want a cuddle while you’re cleaning, guess what? You’re taking a cuddle break! And when the kittens decide your shoelaces are toys, you might never finish mopping that floor.
