Hi, I’m Esmeralda! I was rescued in Athens with my brother by some kind tourists who knew I needed help. Since then, I’ve been on quite the journey. I lost my left leg due to an injury, and I have a cloudy eye—but don’t worry, I don’t let any of that slow me down! I’m happy, healthy, and ready to meet my forever family.

I’m super playful, very affectionate, and also pretty independent. I like to chase, climb, scratch, nap—basically, I do it all! Mornings and evenings are my favorite time to play, especially with feather toys or balls. I also enjoy cozying up near windows or curling up in comfy spots, especially beds. I love being petted on my head and chin, and I’ll purr to show you just how much I’m enjoying it. I’m not too fond of being touched on my amputated leg, though—I hope you understand.

I get along well with other cats, though sometimes I can get a little defensive if I feel uncomfortable. I haven’t made any best feline friends yet, but I’m generally friendly with everyone. I’m also great with strangers, cool when new people come around and I am also friendly with kids who understand my nature and can provide me with the space I need until I feel comfortable.

I’m quiet and cautious, and I like to explore new places carefully. Sometimes I enjoy my alone time, but I also love when people play or cuddle with me—especially if we’ve built a little bond. I’m healthy, vaccinated, spayed, and I don’t need any medications or special food.
