Simona (07/2025), Female
I came to the sanctuary thanks to a lovely collaboration between my rescuers and the Nine Lives team in Athens. What started as a mission to catch two cats spotted by tourists turned into a happy surprise — four cats were found, and I was one of them. A little accidental discovery that turned out to be a very big deal. I'm fully vaccinated, spayed and in great health with no ongoing conditions or medications needed. No allergies or food sensitivities.
I've blossomed beautifully since arriving at the shelter! I came in as a shy, cautious little thing and have grown into a confident, playful, sweet girl who continues to come more and more out of her shell every day. I'm somewhere between active and laid-back — energetic when it's playtime, perfectly happy to lounge around the rest of the time. I'm mostly quiet and communicate through my body language rather than meowing, and I tend to do my own thing, content in my own company or playing with my shelter friends.
I thrive in a multi-cat environment and would genuinely benefit from having a feline companion. I've formed lovely friendships at the shelter, especially with fellow kittens Cyrus and Astro. No territorial or aggressive behavior whatsoever — I'm an easy, social girl!
I'm a little reserved with new people at first — I'll inspect you from a distance before deciding you're worth approaching — but I warm up quickly and genuinely enjoy human affection once I'm comfortable. I love being petted pretty much anywhere and show affection by rubbing on things around you. I have a gentle, trusting nature. I haven't been formally tested with children, but my calm and sweet temperament suggests I'd do well with kids who know how to interact respectfully with animals.
I'm a proper playful kitten — I love laser pointers, balls, and stick toys and will happily chase and pounce to my heart's content. I'm not much of a scratcher. For resting, I gravitate toward high spots and window perches, especially those hanging basket-style cat tree beds. Very sudden movements can startle me slightly, but I've been making great progress on that front. My belly hasn't been tested yet, but everywhere else? Pets are very welcome!
I eat kitten wet food (age-appropriate) and I'm not picky at all — I'll happily eat whatever you put in front of me. And like any self-respecting cat, Churu treats are an instant yes.
I'd thrive in a home that can offer me a feline buddy to play and grow with, and a family patient enough to let me build trust at my own pace — which, given how far I've already come, won't take long at all. A home with children is fine as long as kids understand how to handle cats gently. I don't need a quiet, slow household — I'm playful and curious — but I do best with people who appreciate a cat that balances independent energy with genuine sweetness.
