Suki (01/2020), Female
Hello, my name is Suki. I’m a gentle soul who came to the shelter in March 2024 when someone left me outside the gate with a note and a little money. Life hasn’t always been easy, but I’ve shown just how resilient a cat can be.
Medically, I’ve had my challenges: I once had cancer on my ear, which was removed (the vets say there’s only a small chance of it coming back). I’m currently healthy and doing well. I get liver supplements to support me, and I eat a special hepatic diet (both wet and dry food) that I love.
My personality is on the shy side. I take time to trust new people, but once I do, I’ll reward you with soft headbutts and little meows. I’m quite independent and laid back, often lounging in my favorite high cozy spots or on a shelf where I can observe everything. I love napping, being brushed, and the occasional game with a string toy.
I get along with other cats and don’t mind sharing space with them, but I’m also perfectly content on my own. I’m not the best fit for a home with children, as sudden movements make me nervous, and I might hiss or swat when I feel uncomfortable. With adults who move gently and give me time, I’ll blossom into a sweet and loyal companion.
If you’re looking for a quiet, graceful cat who asks for little but gives so much once she trusts you, I may be the one. I don’t need much — just patience, kindness, and a calm home where I can feel safe. In return, I’ll fill your life with the quiet comfort only a cat like me can bring.
