Hi, I’m Nelson.
Life hasn’t always been kind to me. I was kept alone on a rooftop for hours each day, with very little care or attention. When my owner moved away, they left me behind… but thankfully, some kind people stepped in, and now I’m at the shelter, safe and hopeful for a better future.

I’m a laid-back, affectionate boy who loves rubs, cuddles, and being close to people. I’m not a big fan of toys, but I adore walks, petting sessions, and just lounging somewhere shady and cool. I’ll greet everyone with a wagging tail, a lean, or a happy lick — I don’t play favorites, I love everyone!

I do have a thyroid condition, so I take a few medications each day — nothing too complicated. I’m on T4 tablets morning and night, Vitofyllin, and NeuroSupport supplements, all of which keep me feeling great. I eat regular food and haven’t had any problems with it, though I’ve been told salami is a real treat!

I walk well on the leash, know basic commands like “sit,” and I’m calm in the car — especially if I can sit by the window and enjoy the view. I’m mostly quiet and use my body language more than barking to let you know how I feel. I prefer to be the only dog in the home and would do best with people around — I’m happiest with company.
