Leonidas (07/2025), Male
Hi, my name is Leonidas. I’m a male kitten, born in July 2025, and I’m told I’m a little miracle. My story began in Glyfada, Attiki, where I was found when I was still very, very small. A kind couple took me in and cared for me when nobody knew if I would survive. They bottle-fed me, kept me warm, and gave me a chance at life. When they could no longer keep me, they reached out so I could come to the sanctuary, and I arrived here on 17.10.25.
I had fecal tests for Parvo-Corona and Giardia on 29.07.25, and the results were negative. I don’t have any allergies or food sensitivities, and I don’t have any old health issues. I do live with a condition called hydrocephalus, and because of that, I need ongoing care. Every day, I take Adelcort and Lyrica. I’ve made huge steps since the beginning, and I keep fighting every day to be the little man I am now.
I’m a playful little guy, though my energy comes and goes depending on my mood. I enjoy playtime just as much as I enjoy resting and feeling safe.
I’ve met other cats a few times, and those experiences went okay, but I’m not very keen on them yet. I haven’t made close cat friends, and I might be happiest as a solo king. Other cats can scare me a little at first, but it’s manageable.
New people can scare me too. At the beginning, I might hiss or even bite, but once I trust you, everything changes. When I feel safe, I become incredibly cuddly and can sleep on your arms for hours. Whether I want petting or space depends on how I’m feeling, but when I show love, I do it by playing with your hands, trusting you completely, and choosing your arms as my favorite place to sleep.
I do have favorite people. When someone new enters my space, I’m cautious at first, but I adapt with time.
I haven’t been tested around children. If I were to live with kids, they would need to be old enough to understand my condition and know how to handle me gently.
I love string toys and fingers, and my favorite things to do are napping and playing. Cozy spots are the best, and my playpen is where I feel the safest. I enjoy being petted on my chin and head, and I absolutely love lap time.
Loud noises can still bother me, but I’m slowly getting used to everyday sounds like vacuum cleaners and music here at the shelter. I’m usually more active in the afternoons, and I’m a quiet cat who doesn’t talk much. I don’t really use my voice to ask for things.
I’m curious but cautious, exploring new things carefully without being truly scared. I don’t always ask for attention, but when someone picks me up and cuddles me, I completely surrender to the looove.
I eat kitten wet and dry food, which I need because of my age. I don’t really have a favorite treat yet, and there aren’t any foods I dislike. For now, I just need my kitten food — and someone who sees how strong, gentle, and special I truly am.
Leonidas was adopted abroad and he travelled to his forever home in January 2026.
