Lemmy (01/2026), Male
Hey! I'm Lemmy, and boy, do I have a story to tell you! I'm just a tiny puppy—born around January 1st, 2026—so I'm still figuring out this whole "life" thing. My story could have ended before it even began. I was wandering the streets of Koropi when a lady nearly ran me over with her car. Can you imagine? But instead of just driving away, she stopped. She scooped me up even though she was leaving Greece the very next day, and she made sure I got to safety by reaching out to the shelter. That kind stranger saved my life, and now I'm here, ready to find my forever family!
Let's talk about my health. When I first arrived on February 22nd, 2026, I was pretty rough around the edges. I was anemic, so the vet put me on WeHemo for a month to help me get stronger. My little paws were also burned from the streets, and I needed healing cream for that—but guess what? I'm all healed up now and feeling great! I have no allergies, no food sensitivities, and no health issues now that I've been taken care of.
I'm playful and sweet as sugar! Seriously, I don't think there's a mean bone in my entire little body. I'm an energy ball—an active puppy who's ready to play anytime you are! Morning, afternoon, evening—whenever you're around, I'm READY. I'm a confident little boy who doesn't hold back from exploring and experiencing everything this world has to offer.
What I absolutely LOVE: Your hands! That's my favorite toy right now. I'm a puppy, so I play with my mouth a lot (it's just what we do!), and I love playing with your hands, gentle tugging, and all that good puppy stuff. I also love sleeping—because puppies need their rest to grow big and strong! Right now, I've been using my crate to rest, and it's become my cozy little den.
I LOVE attention, playtime, and belly rubs. Like, LOVE them. You can pet me anywhere—head, belly, back, everywhere—and I'll be the happiest puppy alive. I show my affection in every way possible: wagging my tail like crazy, leaning into you, licking you all over, and basically being your little shadow. If you're looking for a dog who'll smother you with love, you found him!
I'm friendly with everyone! When new people come around, I go straight up to greet them because, in my world, every person is a potential new friend. Strangers? Never heard of them—just friends I haven't met yet!
I'm mostly quiet (not a big barker), and I don't use vocalization much to communicate my needs yet. I'm still learning how to "dog," you know? What I do know is that I want love and company. I don't like being left alone—I'm a social little guy who wants to be where the action is, where my people are.
I seem to be just fine with the big dogs at the shelter! They've been inspecting me (you know how dogs do), and I've been letting them check me out without any fuss. I don't have any specific friendships yet, but I haven't shown any aggressive or territorial behavior either. I'll do fine in a multi-dog home or as your one-and-only—I'm flexible like that!
I don't walk well on a leash yet (I'm just a baby!), so whoever adopts me will need to teach me. I think I'd do great with children who understand that puppies play with their mouths a lot and that I'm not a plushie to be squeezed too hard. I need gentle guidance and patience as I learn the ropes.
I like to run after you—it's one of my favorite games! I'm not sensitive to loud noises or specific environments from what we've noticed so far, and there aren't any areas I dislike being touched. I'm pretty easygoing about everything!
I'm a trash can when it comes to food—I'll eat anything! But right now, I'm on puppy dry food to help me grow into a big, strong boy. I had some tummy troubles (diarrhea) when I first got here, so we've been sticking with just the dry food to keep my belly happy. We haven't tried many treats yet, but I'm sure I'll love them when we do!
What I'm looking for? A family who understands that I'm a puppy—which means I need training, patience, socialization, and lots of guidance. Someone who won't mind that I play with my mouth (it's what puppies do!) and who'll teach me manners gently. People who can give me the attention and company I crave because I really don't like being alone. A home where I can run, play, sleep in my safe crate, and grow up surrounded by love.
I started life on the streets, nearly got hit by a car, and struggled with anemia and burned paws. But I survived all of that, and now I'm healthy, happy, and ready to be the best companion you've ever had. I'm a blank slate—you get to help me become the amazing dog I'm meant to be!
Lemmy was adopted locally and he went to his forever home in April 2026.
