Let’s be S.M.A.R.T. aims to educate the public about the importance of animals by raising awareness of their rights, well-being, and care.
We focus on bringing communities together to promote responsible animal care through our programs (S.M.A.R.T. Solutions) and to foster understanding and compassion for animals.
We believe in thinking globally and acting locally by supporting special projects around the world as they arise. We are dedicated to advancing global animal welfare by bringing best practices in the field of animal care, joining forces with our partners, and making a lasting difference in the lives of animals.
Our inspiration comes from Mahatma Gandhi, who said:
“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
Our main goals are to Successfully Manage Animal Rights Today and to work toward global animal welfare. We aim to share essential information and facts about animals worldwide, helping people understand the benefits that come from treating animals with compassion and care.
Let’s be S.M.A.R.T. provides accessible, practical education for both children—who represent our future—and adults. We focus on raising awareness about the importance of animals, how to care for them responsibly, and the many emotional, social, and even environmental benefits that come from positive human-animal relationships.
In Greece, our campaign is primarily centered on reducing the suffering, abuse and neglect of animals while increasing public awareness of their needs and rights.
Let’s be S.M.A.R.T. works at the local level through the implementation of solution-oriented programs. These include running an innovative and modern cat sanctuary, managing a rehoming program for rescued animals, and collaborating with municipalities to implement effective stray animal care initiatives. We also provide practical solutions for supporting strays in urban communities—such as ensuring access to food and water—and we actively engage philanthropic individuals who travel to Greece to volunteer, learn about shelter medicine, and receive training in best practices in animal care.
Our efforts never end, because the need never ends. Compassion and commitment are the driving forces that enable us to meet our goals and continue making a difference—one life at a time.
