Banana (08/2021), Female

Hi, I'm Banana

I was about to cross a highway in Voula when someone stopped me. She coaxed me over with treats, adopted me on the spot, and gave me a home. When she had to move somewhere smaller and realised she couldn't give me the space I needed to be truly happy, she brought me here rather than keep me somewhere I wouldn't thrive. I think that says something very good about her, and also something very good about me — I am the kind of dog people go out of their way for. I try to live up to that.

I arrived at the shelter on July 17th, 2026. I was born in August 2021, so I am a mature girl with a clear sense of who I am and what I like. I am spayed, vaccinated, and have tested negative for almost everything — the one thing worth mentioning is that I have Leishmania title 1/100 that has been stable since 2022. I took medication for it back then and the titre has not changed since. I currently need no treatment for it, but my future home should know and keep up with regular vet checks. Everything else is fine — no allergies, no dietary restrictions, I eat anything.

My personality: I am a laid-back queen. I move through life at my own pace. I greet everyone who comes near me because I genuinely like people, but I also enjoy my own space and I do not need to be entertained constantly. I am mostly quiet — I do not bark much — and when I want something I will pat you with my paw. Pets, treats, attention: I ask politely and I expect to be answered.

I love rope toys more than almost anything. I will play tug with you, and I will absolutely let you chase me around with my toy because I find it very fun. I rest on cool floors and in shady spots. I love being petted everywhere — just please don't brush the nub of my tail, which is a reasonable boundary. Storms and rain bother me a bit. Car rides make me tense. Crowds, on the other hand, I love completely.

I do fine with other dogs — I live with Napoleon and Joey right now and it is all very harmonious — but I will growl if I am getting cuddles and another dog tries to move in. That moment is mine. I think that is very understandable.

I have been around babies and toddlers on my walks and I simply do not engage with them. One patted my butt unexpectedly and I just walked away. Calm, respectful children would be absolutely fine. I have had some leash training — four lessons — and I am not bad on a lead, though a refresher would be welcome. I take a little time to get used to being alone but I get there.

I was pulled back from a highway by someone who saw me and acted. I would like my next chapter to be a calm one — cool floors, rope toys, someone who answers when I pat them. I am very easy to make happy. I promise.
