Jack (04/2023), Male

Hi, I'm Jack. A tourist found me in Mykonos when I was not doing well at all. She took me to the vet, gave me my medications, and looked after me herself until the day she had to leave Greece. And then instead of leaving me behind, she brought me to the shelter. I think about that a lot. Someone who had no obligation to me whatsoever chose to help me every step of the way, right to the very end of what she could do.

I arrived at the shelter on May 8th, 2026. I was born on April 17th, 2023, so I am three years old — not a kitten, not a senior, just a cat in the prime of his life with a lot of love to give and a strong preference for being held while giving it.

When I was found I was anaemic and had ear mites. Both have been dealt with. I also have one eye that is darkened and may only detecte movement, though I want you to know this does not slow me down or affect how I engage with the world.  I eat dry food — wet food is not for me — and I drink water alongside it, which my future home should make sure is always available.

My personality: I meow when people come near, because I want them to come in and I am not embarrassed about saying so. When they do, I climb them. I rub and purr and use my head to cuddle back, and I will stay in someone's arms for as long as they will have me. I love everyone equally and without reservation. I was cautious when I first arrived, which is understandable, but I came out of my shell and now I am confident and open and seeking attention frequently.

I have been in isolation since arriving so I don't yet know how I feel about living with other cats — I have interacted with them through the netting without any drama, so things seem promising. I spend most of my day napping in my cat house, occasionally chase a ball when I feel like it, and have no triggers, no sensitivities, and nothing that bothers me.

I was saved by a stranger in Mykonos. I am looking for someone who will be my permanent safe place. I will climb you for cuddles every single day, and I think that is an excellent deal.
