Hi, I'm Joey! I have to be honest with you — when I first arrived here I was pretty scared. I'd been found on the side of a road, some of my siblings didn't make it, my mum ran off, and suddenly I was somewhere completely new. I was cautious. I stayed close to Chandler, my brother, and waited to see what happened next.

What happened next was: people were kind. And it turns out I am very, very good at responding to kindness. Within a couple of days I went from hiding to running up to greet everyone who walked in. Now I do belly flops for strangers. I contain multitudes.

I was born around February 2026, so I am a proper puppy and I behave accordingly. I have boundless energy right up until the moment I have absolutely no energy, and those transitions happen without warning. I already know how to play fetch, which I'm told is impressive. I love to run, I love to chew things — toys, branches, whatever I find — and I treat the floor as a perfectly acceptable sleeping surface, which it is.

My medical situation is simple:  I'm in completely good health. No conditions, no medications, just puppy food and a lot of enthusiasm.

I should be clear about what I am at this stage: I am untrained. I don't walk on a leash yet. I pee when I feel like it. I chew things that probably shouldn't be chewed. I whine a bit when my humans leave. This is all normal puppy behaviour and I promise I am worth the effort, but my future home should go in with eyes open and training treats ready.

Chandler, my brother, is my whole world right now. I'd love to grow up with a companion — canine company makes me happy. I haven't met children formally but I'm sweet and gentle and I think we'd get along fine.

​

I was found on a roadside with nothing. Now I'm here, belly up, tail going, waiting for someone to take me home. I won't let you down.
