Fireball (03/2026), Male
Hi, I'm Fireball
I know what you're thinking — big name for a small cat. I'm working on it. I was born on March 1st, 2026, which means I am very new to all of this. The world, people, noises, things that move fast — I'm still taking it all in.
I arrived here on March 31st in a carrier with my mum. Someone left us outside the gate. No note. I don't know why, and honestly I'm a bit too young to process that, so mostly I just focus on staying close to mum and playing with anything that rolls.
Health update: I had ear mites, which are now gone thanks to a few days of Mitex. Currently I am in perfect health — no conditions, no medications, nothing. I eat mother-and-baby food, wet and dry, which is correct for my age and stage.
Here is how I work with people: I won't immediately run up to you. I'll watch you first. I'll form a careful assessment. But if you have a string toy or a bell ball, that process goes significantly faster. Play is how I connect with the world and with people, and once I've decided you're okay, I'm genuinely fun to be around. I'll let you pet my head and back. The belly situation is still under investigation.
Loud noises startle me and fast movements make me jump, which is fair because I am one month old and everything is very large and new. Some moments I'm brave and some moments I want to hide — this is kitten life and I stand by it.
My mum is my safe place. I sleep curled up with her, I meow when she's not in sight, and her presence makes everything easier. Eventually I'll be ready for a home of my own, and I think I'd do well with a calm, gentle person or even a friendly cat companion to grow up with.
I came into this shelter in a carrier with no explanation. I'd like my next chapter to be a better story. I think it will be.
