BonBon (before 2023), Female
Hi, I'm BonBon. I lived with a woman named Ritsa in the centre of Athens for years. She devoted her life to animals and she gave me and my daughter Zozo a home. When she died, we had a week to leave. I don't have words for that — I am a cat and I process things differently — but I can tell you it was not easy, and that the people who made sure we got here rather than left with nowhere to go did something that mattered enormously.

I arrived at the shelter on February 5th, 2026, with Zozo. I am spayed, vaccinated, and healthy — negative for everything, no conditions, no medications. I eat anything. I am fine.

Here is who I am: I am reserved. I am not unfriendly, but I am not the cat who runs to greet you at the door either. I watch people first. I form opinions. I prefer calm environments and I do not like loud noises or sudden movements — they unsettle me and I would rather avoid them. With people I have decided I like, I become more talkative, especially around mealtimes, and I will occasionally deliver a headbutt that I hope communicates what I find difficult to say otherwise.

I am not a lap cat. I do not need to be touched constantly. What I like is being in the same room as someone, on my chair or on the highest spot available, knowing that the world around me is quiet and safe. If you play with a string toy in front of me I might engage, if the mood takes me. I might not. I am not making any promises.

My daughter Zozo is the one I love most. We came here together and I would like to stay together, though I understand that isn't always possible and I do not make demands.

I am looking for a quiet home with a patient person who will not take my reserve personally. I am worth knowing. It just takes a little time to find that out.
