Max (2013/2015), Male
Hi, I’m Max. I may be a little older, but I still have so much love to give. I was living peacefully in a garden in Athens, cared for by a kind lady named Marialena. Then things changed—I went into kidney failure. That’s when she brought me in and made sure I got the help I needed. Now I’m safe, stable, and ready to find my forever home.

At first, I can be a bit shy. I need time to come out of my shell, especially around new people and environments. But once I feel comfortable, I become a total cuddle bug. I love affection—head rubs, back scratches, even butt scratches—I’m here for it all. I’m not really into toys or playing much anymore, but cuddling and napping? That’s my jam.

I’m pretty laid back. I spend most of my time lounging in my safe little hideaway spots and especially love the quiet of the afternoon. I like calm people and peaceful environments. Loud noises and sudden movements still make me a little uneasy, but once I know you’re gentle, I’ll warm up quickly.

I’ve got a couple of health things you should know about—I’m FIV positive and have chronic kidney failure, so I eat a special renal diet (I love canned food pâté!) and take renal supplements to help keep me feeling good. I had stomatitis in the past and had lots of teeth removed, but I’m doing well now. I also love liquid treats!

I haven’t made any close cat friends at the shelter just yet, but I haven’t caused any trouble either. I’d be fine as a solo cat or with calm companions as I don’t really mind sharing my room with laid back personalities like mine. I’m a big talker—I like to let you know I’m around, especially when I want cuddles.

If you’re looking for a quiet, loving companion who’ll appreciate every gentle pet and warm place to nap, I might be the one for you. I still have a lot of love left to share—could it be with you?
