Bowie (8/2024), Male
Hi there! My name’s Bowie, and I’ve got quite the story to tell. I was discovered by some kind-hearted tourists at the Apollonia Hotel in Varkiza, who brought me to safety when I was in desperate need of care. It was love at first sight—I won everyone over with my sweet and gentle nature. Even though I was battling a severe eye infection and a weakened immune system, I never stopped showing my brave, loving spirit.

The team tried everything to save my eyes—antibiotics, eye drops, vitamins, even soothing tea compresses—but the infection was too severe. I ended up losing my sight, but that hasn’t dimmed my sparkle. They named me Bowie after the legendary David Bowie because, like him, I’m a star who shines bright no matter what!

I’m super active and love exploring, climbing, and playing with anything that makes noise. My curiosity knows no bounds, and I’m always up for a new adventure. Even though I can’t see, I’ve figured out how to navigate my world and have fun—nothing holds me back!

I also have a sweet side. I absolutely love cuddles and human interaction. One of my favorite things to do is hug your face, give it a good sniff, and then nibble it gently—it’s my way of saying, “You’re my person!” I purr nonstop, give headbutts, and love being close to people. I get along fine with other cats, but I haven’t made any best friends just yet.

Because I’m blind, sudden noises or movements can startle me, so I’d do best in a calm home without young kids. I’m healthy and love both wet and dry food. When I’m not playing or exploring, you might find me relaxing in a cozy spot, gearing up for my next adventure.

If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate companion who’s overcome so much and still shines bright, I think we’d make a great team. What do you say—are you ready to be part of my story?

Bowie was adopted abroad and he travelled to his forever home in November 2025.
